Why We Made the Biothane Long Line
Use the Long Line for Dog Training
We designed the Biothane Long Line/Long Lead to be used as your go-to training gear. Whether you just brought home a puppy, you are a devoted long-time dog pawrent, or you are a professional dog trainer, our long line is an essential training gear to have at your disposal!
Use the Long Line for fun recall activities with your dog to help build reliable recall with them outdoors in a fun way. Aside from training recall, the Long Lead is also a great tool to practice any training activity with your dog outdoors -- practice "focus", "touch", "come and sit", "sit by heel", and provide your dog with the mental stimulation they crave.
The best part? The Long Line allows for the best training breaks, giving them all the freedom to sniff and scavenge safely.
Use the Long Line for Decompression Walks
We designed the Biothane Long Line for decompression freedom walks with your dog. The Long Line gives your dog the freedom to explore, sniff, and scavenge while keeping them on-leash and letting them lead their walk for a change.
What is a decompression walk?
Simply put, it's a walk where your dog has full control of the pace and all elements of the walk, free of the restrictions from a short and tight leash, and completely without our navigation. This removes the fear of potential triggers in an environment.
The essential gear to have on a decompression walk is a Long Line. We recommend using a 20-30ft long lead to allow your dog to sniff up all the enrichment and take their time.
Make the Walks about Your Dogs!
We strongly encourage every dog pawrent to have at least one Long Line at home.
This is the perfect gear for every dog. It is a great alternative for dogs that might not have strong recalls to have more freedom on walks; it is a good option for on-leash trails/beaches, and a gamechanger for dogs that might struggle with short leash reactivity on walks.
Use the Long Line for training, as a tool when working with reactive dogs, as a training gear when building recall and other foundational skills. Most of all, use the long line to encourage your dog to lead, to sniff, and to scavenge -- let them have a say in how they want their walks to look like!
